Charles A. Weilacher Sr.

Weilacher, Charles A.Charles A. “Charlie” Weilacher Sr., 66, of Ash Street in Punxsutawney, died Monday, November 17 at home.

Born August 9, 1948, in Brockway, he was the son of Fred Jacob Weilacher and Virginia Long Weilacher.

Charlie was married February 7, 1970 in Brockway to Alice Runyan, who survives.

He worked as a tree-trimmer, clear- cutter, mince coal tipple, at the Marienville Foundry, as a park ranger for Cook Forest State Park, as a custodian for MacBeth Cabins in Cook Forest, and as a heavy equipment operator for the Leeper Landfill.

Charlie was a member of the Flowing Waters Church in Bookville, Pa. and a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He enjoyed reading and studying his Bible outside in the rain, snow, or sunshine.

In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by four sons, Robert M. “Bean” Weilacher, of Oil City; Charles A. “Oink” Weilacher Jr. (Krystal), of Oil City; Kevin Weilacher, of Brookville; Jason Weilacher, of Oil City; a daughter, Lynn Hatzell (Daniel), of Clarion; four sisters, Carol Osborne, of Sugar Grove; Margaret Johns, of Kittanning; Mary Corcy, of Brockway; and Barbara Himes, of Brockway. Also surviving are four grandsons and four granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Delbert and James Weilacher.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, November 21 at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.

Services will be held immediately following visitation at 3 p.m. on Friday with Pastor Cal Davie officiating.
