Charles “Chuck” Duttry


Charles “Chuck” Duttry, age 76 of Sabula, PA passed away unexpectedly, August 22, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born January 5, 1945, he was the son of Elmer Dewey and Louella (Dixon) Duttry.

On September 5, 1966 he married Esther Park, who survives at home.

Chuck was a Vietnam Veteran and a well-known mechanic in the Dubois area for over 50 years having worked at Hughes Starr and recently at Royers 322 Auto.

Chuck was a family man who loved seeing all the grandkids every chance he could.

He loved being the pit crew and going to the local dirt tracks watching his son-in-law and grandson race cars.

Living all his life in Sabula, he was a lifetime member of the Sabula Fire Company.

Chuck was an amazing father to 4 daughters Dawn (Ed) Connor, Chris (Dwight) Beck, Tammy (Roger) Knepp and Charity (Ron Gilbert) McNeel; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Connor, Nathan and Chad Beck, Ashley Burns, Hannah and Lauren Knepp, Lacey Dodd, Tabi Branthoover; 8 great-grandchildren, Hunter Burns, Tyler, Melody and Alice Beck, Easton Dodd, Milo Connor, Kyler and Kinsley Frantz (and another one on the way); a sister Madolyn Eberly; and a sister-in-law, Doris Duttry.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers Andy and Gene Duttry; a sister Anna Kohler; and an infant brother and sister.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 and on Thursday, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield.

A funeral service will be held, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the funeral home with Reverend Ray Shaffer.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail.

Interment will take place in Morningside Cemetery of DuBois.

The family suggests memorials to the UPMC Lung Center (C/O UPMC Presbyterian Hospital of Pittsburgh) and will be accepting online condolences at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com.
