Charles Henry Manhart

Charles Henry Manhart, 88, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016, at Highland View Health Care in Brockway, Pa. Charles was the widower of Joyce K. (Strohecker).

Born July 24, 1927, in Lavelle, Pa., he was the son of the late Alfred and Ida (Zimmerman) Manhart.

Charles joined the Army in 1945, serving in World War II, and was honorably-discharged in 1946. He graduated from Trevorton High School in 1948. He spent his career working for Bell Telephone Company as a manager, retiring in 1983.

Surviving are a son, Craig A. Manhart (Lynda); a daughter Melonie K. Ettinger (William); granddaughters, Emily Manhart, Mary Manhart-Shaffer, Rachel Stanley; and one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Jones; nephew, Alfred Dunston; and grandson, Chuck Manhart.

A graveside service will be held at the family’s convenience.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA.
