Charles-GraybillCharles Jerome Graybill of Anderson passed away May, 11, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones.

Chuck was born September 30, 1935, in Brockway, PA, the son of Charles R and Dora (Elias) Graybill.

He graduated from Brockway High School in 1953.

After graduation, he joined the Air Force. He served his country for 8 years in the Intel Spec 1, with duty stations in Tokyo and Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines.

He worked at Brockway Glass in Pennsylvania, before joining the military.

After leaving the Air Force, he went to work as an electrician at Brockway Glass in Lapel then to Delco Remy of Anderson and Magnaquench International, retiring in 2000 on his 65th birthday.

Never one to sit still, he immediately went to work for Winter Park Ski Lodge in Winter Park, CO.

Upon returning to Anderson, he worked for Red Bud Estates with the lawn crew for 14 years.

Beyond his love for his family, his two loves in life were snow skiing and motorcycling.

Chuck was a life member of the Gold Wing Road Riders. He and wife Rosie rode in all 50 states and rode to Alaska twice.

He served as Area Representative for local Indiana Chapter E, and was Indiana District Recruiter and Retention Officer from 2001 through 2004.

He was a member of UAW 662, past member of the Elks and the American Legion.

Chuck was also active in the scouting program working with the Explorer Scouts for many years. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, attending daily mass until his health prevented it in January.

He is survived by the love of his life, Rosie (Burton) Graybill, whom he married November 12, 1988. Children and step-children, Cory Graybill, Dorie Graybill, Todd (Nancy Johnson) Kabrich, Jeff Kabrich, all of Anderson and Renee Murray of Red Boiling Springs, TN. Grandchildren, Jessica (Ean) Reddington, of Claypool, Caitlyn Graybill of Fishers, Hailey, Hunter and Cody Graybill of Pendleton, Morgan and Kayla Kabrich of Westfield, Jonathon Leonard of Red Boiling Springs, TN, James Leonard of Tipton and Jon Kabrich of Anderson. Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Alice Corbin, Clark Graybill, Bob Graybill, Betty Mitchell and Joan Otloski.

The family wishes to thank St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospice Care and Hospice nurse Joanne Smith for his loving care.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017, 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln Street Anderson, with Monsignor Robert Sell, and Father Daniel Shine co-celebrant officiating.

Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, with military rites performed by the United States Air Force and the Daleville American Legion.
