Charles L. Hillard

Charles L. Hillard, 73, of Waterford Pike, Brookville, died on Sun. March 10, 2013 at Jefferson Manor, Brookville, Pa.

Born January 9, 1940 in Shinglehouse, Pa, he was the son of Clarence T. Hillard and Beatrice Crandall Hillard

He married Louise Davis on June 3, 1960 in Corsica, Pa. She survives.

Charles was a veteran of the US Army Reserves. He worked as an Oiler for Stahlman Coal Co. in Corsica, and later for C&K Coal Co. also from Corsica, Pa.

He was a revious member of the Mt. Pleasant Independent Baptist Church in Corsica, Pa.; He enjoyed hunting, raising fish in his aquarium, working with wood, his dogs, working on cars, and was known as Mr. Fix-It.

He is survived by a son, Tim C. Hillard (Jackie) of Brookville, Pa.; a daughter, Mindy L. Seidler (Ken) of Sigel, Pa., a sister, Sonja Diethrich (Tom) of Rockville, MD; four grandchildren, Danielle Weidow (Jim) of Brookville, Pa., Brianna Sherman (Justin) of Natrona Heights, Pa., Luke Seidler USAF, and Rebecca Hillard of Brookville, Pa.

He was receded in death by his parents, one Brother, Richard G. Hillard; and one Infant Daughter, Susan Hillard.

Visitation Hours will be Thursday, March 14, 2013 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.

Service will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Henry Scoff.

Burial will be at Roseville Bethel Cemetery in Union Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.

Memorials can be made to First Church of God – 201 Freedom Lane, Brookville, Pa. 15825 and Dayton Church of God – 1059 Star Rt. 839 Dayton, Pa. 16222.
