Charles R. Light

Charles LightCharles R. Light age 80, of Lighthouse Lane Brockway, PA; died on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA.

Born on September 30, 1936 in Reading, PA; he was the son of the late John Robert and Elda Hoffman Light.

On March 12, 1960 he was married to Norma Jane Weilacher and she survives.

Retired, he had been employed as a Packer at Brockway Glass.

Charlie was a U.S. Army Peace Time Veteran. He was a member of the N.R.A, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Charlie also enjoyed volunteering his time at the Brockwayville Depot, going to flea markets and garage sales, and taking time out to appreciate classic cars.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by a daughter Erin Marie Balford and her significant other Butch Adamson Jr. both of DuBois; a son Charles Robert (Hope) Light of Brockway; 2 sisters Evelyn Shaulis of Reading, PA; Joan Rizzardi of Maryland; 1 brother Frank (Barbara) Light also of Reading and a grandson Joshua Light.

Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by a sister Kathryn Mengel and 3 brothers: Warren, Robert and James Light.

Calling hours will be on Monday, May 15 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 16 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Trask officiating.

Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
