Check Your Numbers: Cash 5 Ticket Worth $225,000 Sold in Jefferson County

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Two jackpot-winning Cash 5 tickets worth a total of $675,000 were sold in Jefferson and Luzerne counties.

For the Sunday, March 15, Cash 5 drawing, one jackpot-winning ticket worth $225,000 was sold at Sheetz, 100 Elk Run Ave., Punxsutawney, Jefferson County. It correctly matched all five balls, 09-11-12-13-28, to win a jackpot of $225,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. The retailer will receive a $500 selling bonus.

There was no jackpot winner in the Saturday, March 14, Cash 5 drawing.

For the Friday, March 13, Cash 5 drawing, one jackpot-winning ticket worth $450,000 was sold at Turkey Hill, 1037 N. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County. It correctly matched all five balls, 24-26-30-36-37, to win a jackpot of $450,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. The retailer will receive a $500 selling bonus.

The prizes must be claimed and the tickets validated before the winners can be identified. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages each holder of a jackpot-winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at any of Lottery’s seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.

Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at headquarters.

More than 78,500 other tickets won prizes of varying amounts in the March 13 and March 15 Cash 5 drawings, so players are reminded to check every ticket – every time.

In the 2013-14 fiscal year, in addition to awarding nearly $11.5 million in prizes to winners in Jefferson County, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed nearly $5.5 million to programs serving the county’s older residents. In Luzerne County, the Lottery awarded more than $83.7 million in prizes and contributed $38.7 million to support benefits for older residents.
