Clarence Harold Mowrey

Clarence Harold Mowrey, 88, of Punxsutawney passed away quietly on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Mulberry Square Elder Care Center.

Clarence was born on March 22, 1927 in Ringold, PA the son of the late Clarence R. and Edna (Shovestull) Mowrey.

On May 26, 1951 he married his beautiful wife Leona (Felzak) in Sykesville.

They were life partners and soul mates for 63 years. Leona survives him.

Mr. Mowrey worked for S & S Tire of Punxsutawney as a tire salesman for 35 years until his retirement in 1988.

Clarence was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during WW II.

Besides a devoted and loving husband, Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling; especially, traveling to Branson, MO and New England.

Clarence is survived by his lovely wife Leona of 63 years and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence R. and Edna Mowrey.

In keeping with Clarence and Leona’s wishes, all arrangements are private and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Mowrey’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
