Clarion County Man Facing Felony Murder Charges in Alcohol-Related UTV Crash

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A 22-year-old Parker man was jailed today on Felony Murder, Homicide by Vehicle, and other related charges in connection with a September 7 UTV rollover crash that resulted in the death of a St. Petersburg man.

Clarion-based State Police say around 2:42 a.m., on Sunday, September 7, Kyle Bailey, of Parker, was traveling north on Keefer Road when he failed to negotiate a right-hand turn and drove off the left side of the roadway.

Bailey’s Polaris RZR Side-by-Side impacted a tree stump, causing the vehicle to roll over an unknown number of times before coming to a rest.

Jeremy Slaugenhoup, 28, of St. Petersburg, a passenger in the UTV, was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.

Slaugenhoup passed away at 11:57 p.m. on September 10, at Golden Living Care Center in Clarion.

Police say Bailey’s medical records revealed his blood-alcohol content level was .211%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08%.

Baily was arraigned today at Magisterial District Judge Jeffery C. Miller’s office on the following charges:

– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor
– Unlawful Operation – Registered Decal Or Plate, Summary (2 counts)
– Unlawful Operate Snow/Atv Under Influence, Summary
– Dr Unregistered Vehicle, Summary
– Fail To Keep Right, Summary
– Driving at Safe Speed, Summary
– Careless Driving, Summary
– Restrictions on Alcoholic Beverages, Summary
– Operation On Streets And Highways, Summary

A preliminary hearing is set for October 28.
