Clarion & Jefferson Counties Junior Achievement 5K Run/2 Mile Walk Pre-Registration Deadline Extended

HAWTHORN, Pa. – Clarion & Jefferson Counties Junior Achievement 5K Run/2 Mile Walk pre-registration deadline has been extended until April 13.

Clarion & Jefferson Counties Junior Achievement boards are pleased to announce the inaugural Junior Achievement Run/Walk Event on Saturday, April 27, 2013.

This event is for adults, children and families. The race will begin and end at the Hawthorn Soccer field (Pottery Field) just off of Route 28 and Walker Flat Road. The event will open with registration at 9:00 a.m. with the race and walk starting at 10:00 a.m. A short awards ceremony to be held after the 5K race. Event should conclude by 12:00 p.m.

Discount registration has been extended until April 13th. Families registering together will receive a discounted rate as well. T-shirts will be available for the first 50 registrants.

Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female competitors. Ribbons will be presented to all children under the age of 14 who participate in either the two mile walk or 5K run.

Registration is also available the day of the event. Please post your registration by Monday, April 22nd for anyone wanting to pre-register.

The race/walk is a beginners’ level course and will take place on the Redbank Valley Trails. Race timing will be conducted by Miles of Smiles.
