Driver Escapes Injury in Route 36 Crash

police-car-woodsOLIVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 36, at the intersection with Hadden Hill Road, in Oliver Twp., Jefferson County.

Police say 70-year-old Walter R. Wiesener, of Clarion, was traveling south on Route 36 around 9:20 p.m. on May 23, when two deer entered the highway, resulting in Wiesener’s vehicle striking both deer.

Wiesener was able to bring his 2008 Pontiac Vibe to a controlled stop along the west side of the highway.

His vehicle suffered disabling damage and required towing from the scene.

He was using a seat belt during the accident and was not injured.
