Clarion Man Charged with Rape of 29-year-old Woman; Bail Set at $100k

CLARION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police are investigating a report of a rape that allegedly occurred early this morning at a residence in Clarion Township.

According to police, a 29-year-old Clarion woman reported that she was raped.

Police say the incident occurred sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on December 24, 2014.

The perpetrator – a 37-year-old Clarion man – was arrested and arraigned before on-call District Justice Timothy Schill.

Bail was set at $100,000.00, and the suspect was remanded into the custody of the Clarion County Jail.

The investigation continues.

The name of the suspect was not released.
