Clarion Tennis Gets PSAC Win in PSAC Finale Against Cal


UPPER ST. CLAIR, Pa. – The Clarion women’s tennis team closed out PSAC West play with a shutout win on Monday, defeating California (Pa.) 9-0 at the Upper St. Clair Tennis Facility.

The Golden Eagles (5-10, 1-5 PSAC West) have just the rescheduled Westminster match remaining on their schedule.

Alivia Arnold and Maria Snyder claimed a win over the Vulcan’s No. 1 pairing, defeating Elizabeth Wohar and Charlie Gallagher 8-2, while the No. 2 doubles pairing of Vinisha Reddy and Katie Benson shut out Alexa Uhlyar and Emilee Leydig 8-0.

Arnold followed up her doubles victory with a singles win over Wohar, defeating her 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles match. Snyder enjoyed a perfect match against Gallagher in the No. 2 singles match, beating her 6-0, 6-0, while Reddy downed Leydig 6-3, 6-0. Rounding out the day was Benson’s win in the No. 4 singles match, cruising past Uhlyar 6-1, 6-0.
