Clarion Theatre Group to Donate Show Proceeds to Hurricane Harvey Victims

COOKSBURG, Pa. (EYT) – The outpouring of support from the area continues for those ravaged by Hurricane Harvey.

The Clarion Community Theatre announced it will donate its share of the proceeds from the Friday, September 8, performance of “Arlene’s Beauty World” at the Verna Leith Sawmill Theatre to the victims.

The show is suitable for all members of the family.

“We’ve been looking at the news out of Houston and that part of Texas and it’s heartbreaking what those folks down there are going through and what they have yet to deal with,” said Mike Barger, the group’s president emeritus. “Our audiences have always been very generous with the causes we support through tickets sales and we know our audience will again come through.”

Audience members will be able to donate to the total amount being sent.

“We’ve looked at the numerous agencies to which the donations can be sent and we believe the United Way of the Greater Houston Area Relief Fund is where we can best help the people of the area,” said Barger. “One hundred percent of the money donated to the United Way of the Greater Houston Area will directly to hurricane victims.”

Barger said Clarion Community will announce the total amount of the donation as soon as possible.
