Clarion U. Baseball Falls to Kutztown on Monday

MesoracoWILSON, North Carolina – Kutztown used a 12-run second inning to knock off Clarion 16-4 in non-conference baseball action Monday in Wilson, N.C.

Clarion’s runs came in the second and the fourth innings with a pair in each.

In the second, Joe Holmberg had an RBI single and Drew Pirritano a sacrifice fly.

Then in the fourth, Matt Karnenicky hit a two-run home run after Jordan Mesoraco double.

Karnenicky also had a double and two runs scored in the game, while Mesoraco had a pair of runs scored and Mike Lockhart two singles.

Alex Borofski took the loss giving up six runs in one-plus innings of work.

Clarion is slated to return to action with a pair of PSAC West doubleheaders against IUP Saturday and Sunday in DuBois.
