Clarion U. Divers Have Success at YSU Over the Weekend


YOUNGSTOWN, Pa. – The Clarion diving team enjoyed a successful day at the YSU Diving Invite on Saturday, with Cary Johns on the men’s side and Christina Sather on the women’s side taking home individual titles.

Johns won the individual titles in both the 1m and 3m Dives, in each instance topping teammate Mike Allison. He notched a score of 278.65 in the 1m, and finished with a 258.10 in the latter event.

Sather negotiated a larger field in her 1m Dive title, placing first out of 10 competitors, including five Division I divers. She posted a score of 262.40 to pace the field, while teammate Emma Kehn took fifth with a score of 213.25. Sather also took third in the 3m Dive, scoring a 268.10. Kehn finished one spot behind her with a 245.00.
