Clarion Women’s Golf Takes Ninth at Mercyhurst Invitational


NORTH EAST, Pa. – The Clarion women’s golf team returned to action after a long layoff, taking ninth at the Mercyhurst Invitational played at Lake View Country Club on Thursday.

The Golden Eagles will conclude their spring season at the Gannon Invitational, set to start tomorrow at Lake Shore Country Club.

Christan Bowshier carded the lowest round of the day for the Golden Eagles, finishing tied for 36th with a 101 on Thursday. The next three Clarion competitors all finished within a stroke of one another, with Morgan VanLeer shooting a 106 to finish second on the team. Mackenzie Cassidy and Clancy Fyock each tied with a 107 to round out the scoring for the Golden Eagles.

All told, Clarion shot a team score of 421 at Lake View, putting them ahead of Urbana. They finished just behind one of the two Gannon squads competing on Thursday.
