Clydine G. Burford, 79, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday afternoon, December 3, 2015 at Christ the King Manor in Dubois. She was born, June 27, 1936 in Oak Ridge, the daughter of the late Clyde and Viney (Baughman) Gerheim.
She was married to H. Neal Burford on October 27, 1953, and were married for 62 years.
Clydine worked as a Postmaster for the Oak Ridge Post Office for many years. She was a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 230 of New Bethlehem.
She is survived by two sons, Steven N. Burford of Fairmount City and Darren T. Burford and his wife Tara of Saint Marys, a daughter, Kimberly A. Guthrie of Reynoldsville, eight grandchildren, Heather Truitt and her husband Scott, Hope McDaniel, Steven Burford, Taryn Lascari and her husband Sal, McKenzie Burford, Gage Burford, Jason Guthrie and his wife Katie and Brenna Guthrie, seven great grandchildren, Shania McDaniel, Gianna Lascari, Avery Guthrie, Gavin Guthrie, Steven Burford, Griffin Truitt and Grayson Truitt. Also surviving is a sister, Edna King of Oak Ridge, and a nephew, Michael Neiswonger of Oak Ridge.
She was preceded in death by both parents, and a sister, Monagale Gerheim.
Friends will be received Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2015, from the funeral home with Pastor Jodie Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
