6:21:16 walter dick parkBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — There will be a community meeting about proposed improvements at Walter Dick Memorial Park in Brookville on Wednesday, January 25.

The meeting, set to begin at 7:00 p.m., will be held at the Brookville Borough building.

Representatives from the Borough and Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. will be present to explain the proposed project, present design ideas, hear from the community and answer questions.

For more information about the meeting, contact Bill Moldovan at 412-429-2324 or bmoldovan@ceinc.com.

The park has a picnic area, playground, swimming area, fly-fishing, walking trails, and North Fork Environmental Education Center.

The park built in 1951, was washed away in the terrible flood of July 1996.

The 20-acre park was rebuilt in 2001.

The North Fork Environmental Center has fallen into a state of disrepair recently.

The Brookville Area School District used the building for the education center for a number of years, but when it stopped using it, the property reverted to being under borough control.
