Police: Reynoldsville Woman Charged with Assault After Repeatedly Striking Victim in Face

handcuffsREYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Reynoldsvill woman is facing assault and related charges stemming from an altercation that occurred in the borough.

According to court documents, Reynoldsville Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 30-year-old Brenna Rae Guthrie, of Reynoldsville.

According to a criminal complaint, around 4:36 p.m. on June 27, Officer Cramer, of the Reynoldsville Borough Police Department, was dispatched to 17 North First Street for an assault. Before Officer Cramer left the Reynoldsville Police Station, Brenna Guthrie met him at the police station.

Guthrie stated that “she was invited to her partner’s residence at 17 North First Street, and once there…an argument ensued between her and (the known woman) over (the known woman’s) new boyfriend. Guthrie then stated that she pushed (the known woman) onto the bed and hit her in the face repeatedly with her right fist,” the complaint states.

Guthrie then stated that “(the known woman’s boyfriend) came into the bedroom and threw Guthrie off of her. Guthrie said she was grabbed by the throat by (the known man). He finally let go, and Guthrie left the residence. Guthrie had a black and blue mark by her left elbow. Guthrie then wrote a statement for the police,” the complaint indicates.

Once Guthrie left the station, Officer Cramer contacted (the known woman) at 17 N First Street. “(The known woman) had the same scenario that Guthrie admitted to.” She had marks/bruises on her face and red marks on her neck allegedly from Guthrie, the complaint continues.

“(The known man) was not at the residence at the time. He did not want the children to know what was going on.” Officer Cramer interviewed him and received a statement as well, according to the complaint.

Based on his investigation, Officer Cramer filed a criminal complaint against Guthrie in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office.

She was arraigned on the following charges:

  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Misdemeanor 3
  • Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Misdemeanor 3

Bail was set at $10,000.00 unsecured.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on August 30 with Judge Inzana presiding.
