Reynoldsville Man Faces Charges for Theft of Tools

REYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – After a lengthy investigation, a Reynoldsville man is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing tools from a residence on Vo Tech Road, in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

Court documents indicate the Dubois-based State Police filed criminal charges against 25-year-old Joseph James Alderton, of Reynoldsville.

According to a criminal complaint, on September 19, 2017, a known man noticed several tools and a generator missing from his enclosed trailer. The man suspected Joseph James Alderton of stealing the tools and decided to drive by Alderton’s residence. Alderton was interviewed at the PSP DuBois station. He allegedly admitted to taking the tools around 1:00 a.m. on September 19.

Based on the investigation, the following charges were filed against Alderton on Monday, March 26, in Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office:

– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Felony 3
– Receiving Stolen Property, Felony 3

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, with Judge Inzana presiding.
