Brockport Man Waives Preliminary Hearing on Assault Charges

SNYDER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Brockport man who is facing assault and related charges after a domestic incident recently waived his preliminary hearing.

According to court documents, the following criminal charges against 28-year-old William Washburn, of Brockport, were transferred to Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Washburn is currently free on $20,000.00 unsecured bail.

His case is working its way through the court system.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint filed by DuBois-based State Police, around 5:21 p.m. on Friday, March 16, Trooper Himes was dispatched to a residence on Rattle Snake Road in Snyder Township for a welfare check.

Upon arrival, Trooper Himes made contact with a known female. While speaking with the woman, Trooper Himes noted significant bruising and swelling on her left eye. The woman stated that the previous night, around 9:45 p.m., she was involved in an argument with William Washburn, and during the argument, Washburn punched her in the face with a closed fist.

According to the complaint, Washburn also admitted to punching the woman in the face with a closed fist.
