Connie McSparrin Hetrick

Connie McSparrin Hetrick, age 80, of DuBois (formerly of New Bethlehem) passed away early Saturday morning, January 3, 2015, at her home in DuBois, following an illness.

Born March 3, 1934 in New Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Paul Edward McSparrin and Twila Esther Anthony McSparrin.

Connie had been employed by Rola in Punxsutawney and held various waitressing jobs throughout her life.

She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed her cookbooks, embroidering and watching QVC.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Sue Hetrick Daugherty of DuBois; Six grandchildren: Matthew Pella and his wife, Wendy and Melissa Smith and her husband, William, all of DuBois; Dustin Hoover and Carson Hoover, Sr., both of Florida and Dawn Hetrick and Rikki Hetrick both of New Bethlehem; Five great grandchildren: Nikki Pella, Vanessa Smith, Lucas Smith, Cameron Hoover and Carson Hoover, Jr..

Connie is also survived by her brother and sister, Eddie McSparrin of New Bethlehem and Bonnie Weaver of Ohio along with two step great grandchildren, two step great great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by a daughter and a son, Cherie Lynn Hoover and Richard Dean Hetrick; one granddaughter, Keli Elaine Pella; one infant great grandchild, Rehlin Lee Hoover and a granddaughter-in-law, Katerina Hoover.

She was also preceded in death by her significant other, Dwight Munson.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in the New Bethlehem Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given in the name of Connie Hetrick to the Hahne Regional Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Avenue #1, DuBois, Pa 15801
