Cook Forest Area Roads to Be Paved


CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Three roads in the Cook Forest region are scheduled to be paved this summer.

While bids won’t be awarded until April 12, PennDOT plans for paving, including milling, patching, micro surfacing, drainage guide rail, and other miscellaneous construction, for Routes 36, 1015, and 2005.

According to Deborah Casadei, Public Information Officer for District 10, the work is not likely to begin until the latter part of June.

According to governmentcontracts.us, here are the roads that are to be bid for work:

Route 36, Section 302, in Clarion County, in Barnett and Farmington Townships, from approximately the Clarion/Jefferson County line to approximately 250 feet northwest of the Route 36/Route 66 intersection;

Route 1015, Section 301, in Clarion County, Farmington Township, from approximately the Route 1015/Route 36 intersection to approximately the Route 1015/Route 66 intersection;

Route 2005 in Clarion County, Porter Township, from approximately 600 feet south of the Route 2005/Camp Road intersection to approximately 150 feet north of the Route 2005/Camp Road intersection.

While a final cost won’t be known until the bids are approved, the estimated price tag ranges from $2.5 to $4.9 million.
