Cook Forest French and Indian War Encampment Set for This Weekend

ReenactmentCOOKSBURG, Pa. (EYT) – Cook Forest State Park will host the 2016 French and Indian War Encampment at the Sawmill Center for the Arts on June 11 and June 12.

The two-day encampment will feature a series of living history events from the 18th century including woodland natives, cannon and musket firing demonstrations, sutler camp, council and trading events, live tactical engagements, nationally renowned living historians, French and Indian-era artisans, and more.

Visitors are welcome to stop by each day during open hours to view over 150 British, Colonial, French, and Native American re-enactors as they portray lifestyles of the 18th century.

Open hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on June 11 and 12.

The event is free to the public.
