Coolspring Power Museum Open this Weekend


COOLSPRING, Pa. (EYT) — Coolspring Power Museum will be open this weekend with running displays and guided tours.

It is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

It is celebrating its 32nd year. Their mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret historically significant and mechanically interesting early stationary internal combustion engines for the education and enjoyment of everyone.

The Museum presents an illuminating history of the evolution of internal combustion engine technology that put an end to the steam-powered era.

Its collection includes over 275 stationary engines housed in more than 20 display buildings.

Stationary gas hit and miss engines, throttle governed engines, flame ignition engines, hot tube ignition engines, and hot air engines are all among the permanent exhibits.

Engines in the museum’s collection range in size from fractional horsepower up to 600 horsepower.

Single Day Adult Admission is $7.00. Admission for children under 12 years old, members, and volunteers is free.

Coolspring Power Museum is located adjacent to Route 36 about midway between Punxsutawney to the south and Brookville to the north.
