Corsica Man Escapes Injury in Alleged DUI-Related Crash in Eldred Township

policeELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Marienville-based State Police say a one-car accident occurred on State Route 36, at its intersection with Moore Bridge Road, in Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, this crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on April 21 as 65-year-old Roger G. Shoemaker, of Corsica, was traveling on Route 36, and his 2009 Nissan Sentra traveled off the right side of the roadway.

The vehicle then impacted a pole, and Shoemaker was able to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop after the impact, police say.

Police say “(Shoemaker) was found to be DUI.”

He was not injured in the crash; he was not using a seat belt, according to police.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
