State Police in Clarion say the crash happened around 10:34 a.m. when a 2010 Ford F-350 began to jack-knife while traveling on Interstate 80 Westbound near mile marker 69.8.

The vehicle, operated by Michael P. Fremer, 29, of Brockway, traveled off the roadway and struck a dirt embankment.

Both Fremer and a passenger, Paul V. Fremer, 71, also of Brockway, escaped injuries in the accident.

Fremer’s truck was hauling cattle. Following impact, an unknown number of cows escaped the trailer, causing a lengthy traffic delay on Interstate 80.

Authorities say two of the cows fled the scene and remain at large.

Police say the cows headed north of Interstate 80 on hoof.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact Clarion-based State Police at 814-226-1710.
