Criminal Charges Against Brockway Man Accused of Shoving Brother During Dispute Withdrawn

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Criminal charges against a Brockway man who allegedly shoved his brother to the ground during a domestic dispute have been withdrawn.

Court documents indicate the following charge against 36-year-old Michael Chad Delong was withdrawn during a hearing on November 16:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

One count of summary harassment against Delong was moved to non-traffic court.

The charges stemmed from an incident that took place in Snyder Township in October.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:27 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, DuBois-based State Police initiated an investigation into an inactive domestic dispute involving two brothers at a location on Reed Road, in Snyder Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, when they arrived at the scene, Michael Chad Delong was sitting outside the residence, while the victim was inside the residence.

Interviews with Delong and the victim then determined that the incident occurred after the victim went downstairs in the residence to Delong’s bedroom and a dispute over vape pen batteries began, according to the complaint.

Delong asked the victim to leave the room, and the victim failed to do so. Delong then reportedly shoved the victim to the ground, resulting in suspected broken ribs. EMS assistance was then requested, the complaint indicates.

When EMS arrived at the scene, although the victim refused treatment, he was having difficulty taking a deep breath and believed at least one rib was fractured, the complaint notes.

Delong was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13.
