CU Women’s Basketball No Match for Ursuline


CLARION, Pa. (EYT)– Natalie Koenig led four Ursuline players in double digits with 17 points, as the Arrows rolled to a 77-53 win at Clarion Wednesday.

Ursuline trailed 14-13 at the end of the first quarter but grabbed a 35-24 halftime lead.

Laney Lewis came an assist shy of a triple-double with 12 points, 15 rebounds and nine helpers, while Erica Huber added 14 points and Brigan Wymer 13.

Clarion, which shot 30.6 percent (22 of 72) from the floor including 5 of 21 from beyond the arc got 10 points apiece from Amesha Harden-Pulliam and Tyra Polite, while Jordan Bekelja added nine points, five rebounds and four assists. Delrika Jones-Cary pulled down a team-best 11 boards while scoring seven points.

The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 1-2 on the year. They return to action Saturday at East Stroudsburg.
