Curve Fall to Richmond for Second Straight Day

CURVE, Pa. – For the second game in as many nights, the Harrisburg Senators put up double-digit runs as the Altoona Curve dropped Friday night’s game at Peoples Natural Gas Field, 10-4.

After an early back-and-forth start, the Senators (2-0) jumped ahead in the fourth and stretched the lead late in the game. The Curve (0-2) pitching staff combined for 10 walks in the game.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Senators took a 6-4 for good on a wild pitch by Curve reliever Jhondaniel Medina and added another run on a sacrifice fly by Kevin Keyes.

Harrisburg added to their lead with a pair of runs in the top of the eighth and ninth frames, against Jared Lakind and Montana DuRapau, to reach the 10-4 final score.

Down 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Jin-De Jhang led off frame with a double and scored on a two-run homer by Stetson Allie, the first long ball of the season by the Curve, against Harrisburg starter Tyler Mapes (Win, 1-0).

In his Double-A debut, Clay Holmes (Loss, 0-1) allowed six earned runs over four innings. He was removed with the bases loaded before recording an out in the fifth.

So far in the series, Allie has posted a .444 average (4-for-9) with three RBIs and his fourth-inning four-bagger.

For the second consecutive evening, Harrisburg had five players with two-hit games, while Altoona was led by a 3-for-4 night from Anderson Feliz in his Curve debut. Jhang also notched a pair of doubles in his first two at-bats.
The Curve and Senators will play the third of the four-game series on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Tyler Eppler makes his second regular-season Double-A start for the Curve after making a brief appearance with Altoona last season. Fifth-ranked Nationals prospect Reynaldo Lopez takes the mound for the Senators.
