CURVE, Pa. – The Altoona Curve held off a late rally from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, beating the Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate, 6-4, on Sunday afternoon at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

Altoona (21-13) took three-of-four games from New Hampshire (12-24) in the series. The Curve are now 12-3 at Peoples Natural Gas Field in 2017.
The Curve jumped out to an early lead in the second inning. With two on and two out, Chris Diaz lined an RBI single to plate a run, and Pablo Reyes followed with an RBI single of his own to give Altoona a 2-0 lead. Diaz finished 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI out of the nine spot in the order.
After Anthony Alford hit a solo home run for the Fisher Cats to make it a 2-1 game, Reyes added an RBI double to extend Altoona’s lead to 3-1.
The Fisher Cats got to within a run at 3-2, and then Wyatt Mathisen added to the Curve’s lead in the fifth inning with an RBI single. Jerrick Suiter hit a sacrifice fly later in the frame to make it a 5-2 game.
Edwin Espinal drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to stretch Altoona’s lead to 6-2.
Former Curve Harold Ramirez doubled home a pair of runs in the seventh inning to bring New Hampshire to within two runs at 6-4, but that is as close as the Fisher Cats got to Altoona’s lead.
Curve starter Brandon Waddell pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run on two hits. Miguel Rosario (Win, 2-1) pitched two scoreless innings and struck out two. Sean Keselica allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings and Tate Scioneaux (Save, 2) nailed down the save in two-inning fashion.
Shane Dawson (Loss, 1-5) surrendered five earned runs on eight hits in five innings. Justin Shafer gave up the final run in the sixth inning.
After an off day on Monday, Altoona will begin a brief three-game road trip on Tuesday in Binghamton to take on the Rumble Ponies. The Curve will send right-hander Tanner Anderson (2-2, 1.90) to the mound, while right-hander Mickey Jannis (3-1, 3.74) will get the start for Binghamton. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at NYSEG Stadium.
