Curve Season Opener Postponed

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Thursday’s season-opening game between the Altoona Curve and Harrisburg Senators has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday evening.

The Curve will now begin their season with Friday’s regularly-scheduled game at FNB Field in Harrisburg beginning at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the Curve and Senators will now play a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games, with the first game beginning at 6 p.m.

Right-hander Alex McRae is now scheduled to be the starting pitcher for Friday night’s game. Lefty Brandon Waddell is slated to pitch the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader. The rest of the pitching rotation will be announced at a later time.

The Curve are set to play their home opener at Peoples Natural Gas Field on Thursday, April 13 against the Akron RubberDucks at 6 p.m. Cresson, Pa. native and finalist on NBC’s The Voice Josh Gallagher will be on hand for a Meet & Greet and a live performance presented by Miller Lite and City Beverage. The first 5,000 fans will receive a 2017 Curve Magnet Schedule, presented by NAPA. A fireworks show will follow the game, and it will be the first Thirstday of the season, presented by Q94, with $2 specials on Miller Lite 16 oz. drafts and regular-size sodas, as well as $1 Juniata by Kunzler-brand hot dogs.
