Cynthia-Carrara-1463653446Cynthia Edna Carrara, 89, of Butler, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Sunnyview Home.

She was born November 15, 1926 in Mercer County, PA, the daughter of the late Alden Pierce and Vera (Bishop) Pierce.

She had been a nurse at various nursing homes and she enjoyed quilting.

Surviving are 5 daughters, Edna Mae (Raney) Neff and her husband, Don of Chicora, Vera (Dietrich) Angles and her husband, Donald of OH, Winifred (Dietrich) Hiles and her husband, Dennis of Franklin, Kathleen (Dietrich) Sherman and her husband, John of Fenelton and Rose (Dietrich) Mainhart and her husband, Thomas of Butler; 2 sons, Carl O. Dietrich of Butler and Howard Dietrich of Chicora; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 step-daughters, Evelyn (Dietrich) Oesterling and her husband, Leonard, Jr. of Worthington, Carolyn (Dietrich) Sisley and her husband, Mark of OH and Phyllis (Dietrich) Donmoyer and her husband, John, Sr. of Gettysburg; step-son, Chester Dietrich and his wife, Nancy of Butler; sister, Helen (Pierce) Harrison of Sharon and a brother, Paul Pierce and his wife, Nancy of Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, James Raney, Ralph Dietrich and Clarence Carrara, an infant daughter, stepson, Glenn Dietrich, grandson, Chester Dietrich, brother, Ray Pierce and sister, Jane Rose Pierce.

Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9PM.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 21st at 11AM.

Interment in the Gruenwald Cemetery, Butler, PA.
