D9Sports.com Recaps: Stewart Leads Curwensville Past Redbank, 44-30

CURWESNVILLE, Pa. – Nick Stewart rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries, as Curwensville beat Redbank Valley 44-30 in a rare non-conference showdown between two of the the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Top 10 teams Friday night at Riverside Stadium.

Jakob Terry added a pair of touchdown passes for the Golden Tide (5-1) and was 16 of 26 for 197 yards passing while also throwing an interception.

Curwensville, ranked 10th in the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg D9sports.com Rankings, led 30-8 midway through the second quarter before Redbank Valley, ranked sixth, rallied to close the gap to 30-24 at halftime. But that was as close as the Bulldogs (4-2) got.

Hunter Johnson added 13 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown for Curwensville, while Quamone Newkirk had nine catches for 115 yards and a score. Stewart, who scored on runs of 12, 32 and 19 yards, added three catches for 26 yards.

Connor Shoemaker was 16 of 25 for 288 yards and two touchdowns to go with an interception for Redbank Valley. He added a rushing touchdown and had 14 yards on 18 carries.

Wyatt Hetrick pulled in one of those scores and had six catches for 122 yards, while Nick Shoemaker had five grabs for 68 yards and a touchdown. Colten Mohney ran 10 times for 51 yards and a scores and had three catches for 49 yards.
