D9Sports.com Boys’ High School Basketball Recaps: Riley Three With 2.5 Left Lifts Punxsutawney Over Bradford

PUNXSUTAWNEY 51, BRADFORD 48

 

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Ethan Riley buried a 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left to lift Punxsutawney to a 51-48 win over visiting Bradford in D9 League play.

 

The game-winning three was the only basket of the night for Riley.

 

Devin Kelly led the Chucks, who led 32-28 at halftime, with 16 points with Dylan Huey adding 10.

 

Deondre Terwilliger paced Bradford with 14 points. John Eakin added 10 points and seven rebounds with Nate Higbie chipping in 13 points. Andy Pantuso had four points, seven rebounds, five steals and three assists.

 

KANE 49, BROCKWAY 45

 

KANE, Pa. – Andrew Bucheit had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Kane past visiting Brockway, 49-45, in non-conference action.

 

Davis Gardner added 12 points and Andy Bundy eight for the Wolves, who broke a 27-all halftime tie with a 10-7 third-quarter advantage.

 

Corey Carr had 11 points for Brockway, which led 17-12 at the end of eight minutes. Carter Adams chipped in nine points for the Rovers.

 

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 65, SHEFFIELD 27

 

DUBOIS, Pa. – Christian LaParne poured in 23 points to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a 65-27 home win in AML action over Sheffield.

 

LaParne scored 11 points in the first quarter alone to help the Cardinals gain an 18-4 lead at the end of the quarter.

 

Logan Connolly and Cale Albaugh paced Sheffield with seven points each.

 

CLARION-LIMESTONE 85, MONITEAU 54

 

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Led by 21 points from Noah Rankin, Clarion-Limestone put four players in double digits in an 85-54 win at Moniteau in KSAC Crossover action.

 

Taylor Smith added 16 points for the Lions, who also got 14 points from Dan Callen and 13 from Christian Smith.

 

Callen scored 12 of his points in a 30-point second quarter for C-L which helped the Lions to a 45-20 halftime lead.

 

Aaron Marterella paced Moniteau with 14 points with Laken Pry adding 13 and Derek Boben 12 for the Warriors.

 

KEYSTONE 66, FOREST AREA 12

 

KNOX, Pa. – Austin Ion and Nate Wingard each scored 13 points to lead Keystone to a 66-12 win over visiting Forest Area in KSAC Crossover action.

 

Mason Rearick chipped in 12 points for the Panthers.

Nic Smail led Forest Area, which played without leading scorer Seth Berlin, with five points.  View More Recaps
