BROOKVILLE 55, BRADFORD 54, 2 OVERTIMES
BROOKVILLE, Pa. — Sophomore Brooke Shattenberg’s layup as time expired in the second overtime period lifted the Brookville Lady Raiders to a 55-54 win over visiting Bradford in the District 9 League.
Bradford’s Raya Hennigan gave her team a 54-53 lead when she hit one of two free throws with 32.4 seconds remaining in the second OT. The Lady Owls (6-13, 3-5) had a chance to extend the lead following a Brookville turnover, but Morgan Roggenbaum missed two free throws with 7.8 seconds left to set up the final sequence.
With the Lady Raiders (12-6, 5-4) needing to go the length of the court, Brenna Dworek inbounded to Elaina Powell who passed back to her at the top of the key in a crowd. Dworek got control of the ball and shoveled a pass to Shattenberg in time for the winner.
