Dancer’s Studio Receives Platinum, High Gold Awards in Pittsburgh GuiDANCE Competition

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (EYT) – Nineteen dancers from Dancer’s Studio competed last month at the guiDANCE experience dance competition in Pittsburgh.

All of the dancers participated in three classes including a Youth Protection Advocates of Dance Spirit Swag seminar.

These dancers started rehearsing the routines in July. They also take many classes training to improve their technique throughout the year.

The studio brought home 17 Platinum Awards and 28 High Gold Awards. The placements range from High Silver to Platinum.

The dancers received the following overalls:

– Nine 1st Overall
– Four 2nd Overall
– Three 3rd Overall
– One 4th Overall

AJo Gallagher, Director of Dancer’s Studio, said this is the best start they have had to a competition season.

“I have 19 dedicated, hard-working dancers who strive to do their best, and it showed in their performances,” said AJo.

“The dancers, parents, and myself are all so thankful for the support of the local community and the privilege to have the opportunity to have the dancers train with not only me and my staff but with many top-notch teachers and choreographers in the country.”

A few other highlights of the competition were:

– Aoife won the Goal Getter Award for her presentation on a Goal she is trying to accomplish.
– Rylee Lindenpitz received a 1/2 Scholarship to MPower Summer Intensive.
– Caitlyn Wolfe received the title of Petite Miss guiDANCE Pittsburgh.
– Janiya Jones received 2nd Runner-Up to Junior Miss guiDANCE Pittsburgh.
– Abbey Barron received the title of Teen Miss guiDANCE Pittsburgh.
– Madilyn Simpson received the title of Senior Miss guiDANCE Pittsburgh.

– Dancers Studio received the choreography award for “Walls,” a contemporary piece choreographed by Channing Cooke.

– Abbey Barron received the student choreography award for a contemporary dance she choreographed.
