Daniel Eugene Hetrick

Daniel HetrickDaniel Eugene Hetrick, age 44, of Kersey, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born on July 3, 1971, in Ridgway, PA, to Kenneth E. and Shirley H. (Carberry) Hetrick; both parents survive him. For 20 years he worked as a machinist at Quala-Die Inc., in St. Marys, PA, but most recently worked as a machinist for JIT Tool and Die Inc., in Brockport, PA.

He was a Methodist by faith and he enjoyed hunting. He loved being out in the woods for recreation as well as working. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and operating heavy equipment. He also enjoyed different kinds of sports and loved his two cats, Zoey and Boo.

In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by 1 sister, Denise H. (Danny) Hornung; 1 brother, Douglas R. (Brandy) Hetrick; 5 nieces and nephews, Lauren and Stephanie Hornung, Hunter, Madisyn, and Emma Hetrick. Daniel is preceded in death by 1 nephew, Eric Michael Hornung; his maternal grandparents, Carl and Helen (Johnson) Carberry; and his paternal grandparents, Arnan and Elsie (Eshbaugh) Hetrick.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 8, 2016, from 4 – 8pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 9, 2015, beginning at 11am, also at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rodney “Boots” Martz officiating.

Interment to take place at the Temple Cemetery, Warsaw Twp., Jefferson County.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Fox Township Ambulance Assoc., 432 Main St., Kersey PA, 15846, or to the Kersey United Methodist Church, 106 Dagus Mines Rd., Kersey PA, 15846.
