Daniel Howard Reed, 70, of Reynoldsville, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at home.
He was born April 1, 1944 in DuBois, a son of the late Charles Ira and Ruth Lorraine (McAdoo) Reed.
On May 30, 1970 he married the former Deborah Cecelia Sones. She survives.
Mr. Reed was a station electrician for Penelec for twenty one years.
His hobbies were fishing, woodworking and gardening.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, Christina Baker and husband Kenneth of Reynoldsville, Susan Rickard of Big Run, Shawn Reed of McKeesport, and Thomas Reed and wife Andria of Huston, TX; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles “Chucky” Reed and wife Karen of Reynoldsville, Douglas Reed and wife Nancy of Punxsutawney; four sisters, Darlene Sesti of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Beverly Bearror of N.C., Patricia Kuntz and husband John of Reynoldsville, Barb Curran and husband Larry of Knox.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Doug Wolfe.
Interment will follow at Desire Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Reed’s memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation or Gateway Humane Society.
