Daniel J. Meehan III

Daniel J. Meehan, III, age 72 of East 2nd Ave., DuBois, PA died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at his home.

Born September 28, 1942 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel J. & Elizabeth J. (Quinlisk) Meehan.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

On September 11, 1971, he married Diane M. (Kos) Meehan. She survives.

He retired from United Cerebral Palsy in Falls Creek as head of transportation after many years of service.

Daniel was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, and he enjoyed going gambling with his wife.

He is survived by twelve siblings: Mary Anne Cameron of Akron, OH, Patrick Meehan of Johnson City, TN, Jane Gelnett of Rockton, PA, Doug Russell of Indiana, PA, Barbara Flores of Dallas, TX, Rosie Truance of Rossiter, PA, and Richard Meehan, Cathy Michael, Julie Meehan, Thomas Meehan, James Meehan and John Meehan, all of Punxsutawney, PA.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.

A scriptural wake service will be prayed on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Full military honors will be accorded from the church by the member of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

Burial will follow in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Sykesville, PA.

Memorials may be placed with Penn Highlands Hospice, and/or Oncology Hematology Associates, both at 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.
