Danny L. Phillips

Danny L. Phillips, 68, of (Albion) Punxsutawney, passed away at home on Monday, January 3, 2022, surrounded by dear ones who loved him.

He was born in Punxsutawney on November 28, 1953, a son of the late Ronald L. Phillips and Lucy B. (Rankin) Phillips.

Mr. Phillips worked with his dad at Phillips Manufacturing, also worked as a truckdriver and had many other work experiences as well, such as road construction building bridges and a UPS driver.

Danny attended the Albion United Methodist Church.

He had a generous and caring heart for people, he was very considerate of others.

He loved animals, particularly his little dog Sweet Pea.

He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling and searching for and collecting Anvils.

His love of antiquing began when he spent time with his mother searching for old treasures at various sales and venues.

He is survived by a special young man that he treated like a son, Alex Michael Ingros; his fiance’Kathy Hobba, whom he got reacquainted with when he purchased an Anvil from her; a brother, Terry Phillips of Gig Harbor, Washington; and a sister, Beverly Wright of Punxsutawney; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Ronald John Phillips.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Joel Fugate.

Interment will follow at Ridgemount Cemetery, Bell Township, Jefferson County.

Memorial donations may be made in Danny’s memory to any local humane society.
