Darl L. “Buck” Snyder

Darl L. “Buck” Snyder, 82, of Distant, died early Monday morning, June 20, 2016, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville.

Born October 16, 1933, in North Freedom, he was the son of Olan and Mary (Gruver) Snyder. He married Nancy (Allen) on October 25, 1953, and she survives.

Darl served his Country in the United States Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War. He was employed as a coal truck driver.

He is survived his wife, Nancy, of Distant, two sons, Larry Snyder and his wife, Marti Jo, of Oakridge, and Alan Snyder of Fairmount City (Sherman Heights), a daughter, Cathy Metz and her husband, Larry, of Butler, and a sister, Maxine Otte of Fairmount City.

In addition to both parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Snyder and Clair Snyder.

A private funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn, with Pastor Jimmy Swogger officiating.

Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant.
