David A. Shemuha, age 82, Galaxy Circle, DuBois, PA died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
Born February 11, 1933 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Alex and Agnes (Kucharski) Shemuha.
On May 3, 1958, he married Joyce A. (Contrini) Shemuha. She survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.
After 40 years of service, he retired from National Fuel Gas in DuBois.
David was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and traveling.
He is survived by three daughters: Lisa M. Presto and her husband, Dennis of Brockway, PA; Catherine Lynn Durfey and her husband, Thomas of Springfield; VA and Angela J. Rubino and her husband, Glenn of Ashton, MD; a brother, Robert J. Shemuha and his wife, Adeline of Punxsutawney, PA and six grandchildren (Jamie and Erica Presto; Tyler and Sean Durfey; and Anna and Alex Rubino).
David was preceded in death by his son, Thomas D. Shemuha and a grandson, Ryan Presto.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10 A.M. from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Memorials may be sent to the DuBois Public Library, 31 South Brady Street and/or St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 25 Robinson Street, both located in DuBois, PA 15801.
