David Earl Rupert, 73, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 3, 2021, while surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 1, 1948, to the late Earl and Freda Mae (Hartzell) Rupert in DuBois, PA. He graduated from DuBois Area High School with the Class of 1966. After high school he enlisted in United States Army, where he proudly served active duty and the reserves for thirteen years.
On March 18, 1972, Dave married the love of his life, Wanneita Marie Snyder, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reynoldsville, PA; she survives him. He worked at the Riverside Warehouse in DuBois, PA, where he retired after 42 years of service. After he retired, he was a school van driver for Jewell Busing at the DuBois Area School District, where he loved helping children. Dave was a member of the DuBois Area Honor Guard, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus; where he was a Fourth Degree Knight.
Dave will be missed greatly by all that knew him. He was the most generous, kind, and loving person. He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren. Dave enjoyed taking his son hunting and having a good hotdog. He also loved coaching all three of his children in baseball, softball, football, and soccer.
In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by one sister, Henrietta Rahalla; three children, David Michael (Carey) Rupert, Lisa Ann (Michael) Hilliard, and Angela Marie (Vinnie) King; five grandchildren, Isaac David and Jacob Michael Rupert, Hunter Michael and Haylee Elizabeth Hilliard, and Gracie Marie King.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his mother and father in-law, Merle and Nellie Snyder; two sisters, Clara Chittester and Anna Coleman; and brother, Francis Johnson.
Friends and family will be received from 4 – 8 pm, on Monday, June 7, 2021, at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA, 15851.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 607 E. Main St, Reynoldsville, PA, 15851, on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, beginning at 10 am, which will include full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the DuBois Area Honor Guard, PO Box 907, DuBois, PA, 15801. Final interment will take place at Syphrit Cemetery, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co, PA. Online condolences and other information may be found by visiting snyderdargy.com
