David R. Nelson

David R. Nelson age 63 of Shawmut Road Brockport, PA; died on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born on August 29, 1954, in Buffalo, NY; he was the son of the late Harry Nelson and Betty McConnell Nelson who survives and lives in Warsaw, NY.

He was married to Shirley M. Cribbs and she preceded him in death on June 10, 2001.

Dave was employed as a Mechanic at Stoltz Ford in St. Marys and was a highly decorated Ford Senior Master Technician.

He was currently the President of the Brockport Army/Navy Club; was a member of the Brockway Orient Club; Warsaw Twp. Sportsmens Club, Eagles Club and the Horton Sportsmens Club.

He enjoyed playing pool, golfing and was very good at fixing anything.

He also enjoyed making people smile and laugh.

Perhaps his greatest joy came from spending time with his granddaughters.

In addition to his mother, Dave is survived by a daughter Nancy (Ryan) Morrison of Brockway, a son David W. Nelson of Brockport; a brother Jim (Deb) Nelson of Holland, NY; 4 sisters: Bev (Jesse) Heilbrun of Falls Creek, PA; Sue Nelson of Peach Tree City, GA; Mary Nelson (Mike Ryan) of Amherst, NY; and Ginger (Bob) Trabert of Glenwood, NY. He is also survived by 2 granddaughters Lyla and Lexie.

Family and friends may visit the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. on Thursday, September 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM where you may share memories and celebrate the life of Dave.

Immediately following everyone is invited to the Brockport Army/Navy Club where a time of fellowship will continue and refreshments will be served.

A private graveside service will be held at Temple Cemetery in Hazen with Rev. Terry Felt officiating.
