YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 1:25 p.m. on April 25, a two-car accident occurred on Buffalo-Pittsburgh Highway (State Route 119), 213 feet east of Wachob Road, in Young Township, Jefferson County.
Police say 24-year-old Megan N. Duke, of Dayton, and 46-year-old Melinda L. Daisher, of Commodore, were involved in the collision.
According to police, Duke and Daisher were both traveling north on SR 119, and Daisher stopped for a vehicle turning left. Duke was unable to stop, and her 2007 Saturn Ion struck the rear of Daisher’s 2014 Dodge Challenger.
The Saturn came to a rest at impact, facing west in the northbound lane, police say.
The Dodge traveled approximately 99 feet and came to a controlled stop in a parking lot, facing north, according to police.
Duke suffered minor injuries, police say.
Daisher was not injured, according to police.
Both occupants were using seat belts, police say.
Lindsey Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS assisted at the scene.
