DCC Softball, Baseball Get Wins


DUBOIS, Pa. (D9Sports) – DuBois Central Catholic put up back-to-back four spots in the fourth and fifth innings to defeat visiting Clarion, 8-4, at the new Challenger Field in DuBois.

Carley Semanchik and Mia Meholik each drove in three runs for the Lady Cardinals with Semanchik going 1-for-3 with a run scored and Meholik 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Chelsea Busatto was also 1-for-3 with two RBIs for DCC with Shay Gulvas going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, Maia Cogley 2-for-4 with a run scored and Ashley Wruble 1-for-1 with two walks and two runs scored.

Alexis Constantino was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Clarion with Maya Thornton tripling, scoring a run and driving one in and Sadie Rudesyle adding a double and an RBI. Sidney Kiser also had RBI for the Lady Cats.

Wruble got the win going seven innings allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits and a walk while striking out three.

Rudesyle took the loss allowing eight runs, all earned, on 11 hits and three walks while striking out six.

BASEBALL

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 15, CAMERON COUNTY 1, 5 INNINGS

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Damon Foster went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs to lead visiting DuBois Central Catholic to a 15-1, five-inning win over Cameron County in the coaching debut of Adam Fox.

Brandon Walker added two hits, including a double, three RBIs and two runs scored for the Cardinals who also saw Domenic Toretti go 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Noah Bloom was also 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs with Justin Miknis going 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.

Three DCC pitchers combined on a five-hitter.

Anthony Kness started and went three innings allowing one run on four hits and a walk while striking out five. Toretti pitched an inning allowing a hit and striking out three and Thomas Grecco, who had a double on offense, went one inning striking out all three batters he faced.

Bryce Bauer was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Cameron County, while Adam Streich went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Marcus Brown took the loss going 2 ? innings allowing 11 runs, eight earned, on 10 hits and three walks. Ty Bauer pitched 2 ? innings giving up four runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out one.
