Deer Cause One-Vehicle Crash on I-80 in Pinecreek Twp.

PINECREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say multiple deer on the roadway caused a one-vehicle crash around 7:10 a.m. May 4, on Interstate 80 in Pinecreek Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, the crash occurred as 27-year-old Jessica A. Nelko, of Aliquippa, was traveling east on I-80 in a 2012 Jeep Compass.

Multiple deer ran accross the roadway from the median into the path of Nelko’s vehicle, police say.

Nelko struck one of the deer with the front passenger side of her Jeep, according to police.

After impact, Neklo’s vehicle came to a final rest on the right berm of the roadway, police say.

Neklo was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision and was uninjured, according to police.
