Deloras Corinne (Neese) Harmon

Deloras Corinne (Neese) Harmon, 86, of Dayton, PA, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler, PA.

She was born December 1, 1930 in Oak Ridge, Armstrong Co., PA, to George Neese and Thelma (Travis) Bish. She married John Jay Harmon on September 25, 1948.

Deloras graduated from New Bethlehem High School in 1948 and during the 1950s served one-and-a-half terms as the Redbank Twp. Tax Collector. Other than being a homemaker, she worked at the Dayton Post Office from 1970 to 1985. Deloras was a member of the Dayton United Methodist Church and sang in the church’s choir for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Punxsutawney Lodge, and in her free time enjoyed traveling, reading and spending many winters in Melbourne, FL.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, David Jay Harmon and wife, Sylvia, of Shelocta; daughter; Amy Lynn Steele, of Dayton, PA; grandchildren, Jamie Holeva and husband, Denny, Diana Harmon, Katie Neal, Jody Harmon, Stacy Schantz and husband, Michael, Heath Hart and wife, Carolyn, Brandi Anderson and husband, Jesse, and Eric Steele and wife, Chrissi; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Marlin Neese and wife, Elenore, of Palm Bay, FL, and Edwin Neese and wife, Mary Alice, of Uniontown, OH; half-brother, Todd Bish, of Strattanville; and half-sisters, Luanna Gray and husband, Ralph, of Akron, OH, and Sandy Chilton and husband, Jim, of Salem, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and children, Kim Allen Harmon and Cathy Sue Hart.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, Inc., 125 East Main Street, Dayton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Howard officiating.

Interment will be at Emory Chapel Cemetery, Dayton, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Deloras’ honor to the Dayton United Methodist Church, 105 East Church St., Dayton, PA 16222 or the American Cancer Society, Armstrong Unit, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
